Royal Tart by OakJum9014 Royal Tart by OakJum9014
I added some patterns work, this time :) I enjoy to try something new whenever I draw.
I used water colors (SWC) and colored pencils (Prisma) on watercolor paper.

When I drew this, I felt starving due to PB's royal tart. I wanna try it lol.

Hello and I am from :iconbeaute-lamour: and I am here to provide you with your long awaited critique, thank you for waiting patiently. I will be 100% honest and hope this helps and all critiques are subjective.

Positives- This artwork is drawn very very well and the colors look really really beautiful. The colors being incorporated into the other elements in the artwork shows you have knowledge with colors and also helps to add balance to your art. The pink adds great emphasis to the subject of the pieces a contrast from the bright yellow. The gradations with the color looks good as well like in her bubble gum hair and on the clouds ( amazing shading) and also the candy people around her. The warm colors creates a very light and happy mood in the artwork that makes it a pleasure looking at.

The details in the artwork also look great like the flowers and the tree stump but the textures is what I think really captures the eye. The textures/patterns like in her hair on the wood and candy people look amazing! The intricate designs on her hair really reminds of like eastern pattern or designs very beautiful hints of detail and that what seems to make this piece stand out very strong. Also the hints of highlights add a great and wonderful touch to the artwork.

Suggestions: I have a few suggestions such as the line work looks really nice but careful in some places like the hair when its bending it takes slightly a sharp turn and this makes it look a little stiff so in the future it can help to just smooth that line a little, nevertheless still great job with the colors not bleeding into one another and lines looking sharp. My biggest suggestion would be the background seems to be taking away from the composition of the piece. I don't mean the clouds or the wood but everything else seems to add a little clutter to the piece and appears not to be unnecessary. It seems the artwork is perfectly strong without some of the elements in the background the desaturated yellow and the wood along the edges and with the clouds would seem to make the great background alone and add more of a balanced composition. So I suggest for now if you do wish for a more balanced composition then if you have not tried this method then I suggest to do a few rough drafts to find what is important and what the artwork can do without.

All and all this artwork is very sweet, lighthearted and really pretty the details bring the artwork out so much and the colors are lovely, keep up the great art and I hope this help.
